BARBARA & JULIAN

When we were brainstorming locations for this session, a phrase that came up was "we want it to feel like San Francisco, but not too San Francisco." Luckily, I had recently been to a hidden gem of a park perched at the top of a hill and overlooking the Bay Bridge and downtown.

Barbara & Julian are high school best friends turned life partners, so they have an ease and comfort about them that comes with knowing each other for most of their lives. I knew I wanted to capture that easy-going, natural kind of love in their photos, so we basically just went for a stroll around the area. It was a great way to showcase Barbara & Julian, and also the city's greenery, hills, and views. San Francisco, but not too San Francisco.
